Un p? di tempo f? usci il modello signature di Chad Smith che poi ? quella che ha usato nel tour di californication se non erro (quella blu flame) che altro non era che una MRX con una finitura custom. Ora usa o una reference o quella con tutti i led sopra che ignoro cosa sia, sempre una pearl rimane.
Come rullanti usa i Brady per motivi sonori e sponsorizza il suo signature per doveri contrattuali. Per i piatti fatti un giro sul sito Sabian e tra gli artisti becchi i piatti che usa.
Come prezzi, stiamo parecchio altini sul totale.

Per registrare Stadium Arcadium ha usato una Pearl Reference con:
Cassa 24x16 tom 12x10 timpani 14x14 e 16x16, per? per gli altri album e dal vivo ha sempre usato una MRX con le stesse misure. Sul rullante ci sono varie voci: c'? chi dice Brady, chi Dw, chi Ludwig Black Beauty, e chi Pearl Sensitone. Di certo si sa che non ha praticamente mai usato il suo rullante.
Piatti: Crash Signature, HH e ride e altri Sabian AA
Bacchette: Vater signature

Solo per la batteria ci lasci 3000 Euro comodi, anche perch? ? un set che ti devi fare assemblare..

Sulla seconda foto si vede bene quello sulla risonante del primo timpano...

Non ? la prima volta che si vedono dei trigger sul set di chad.

Credevo che Chad usasse solo microfoni.

S? in quelle foto usa dei trigger, ma solo come interruttori per "accendere" i fusti ad ogni colpo..

posto un articolo di Mike Dolbar, in cui pare che Chad Smith abbia usato in parecchi pezzi un rullante REFERENCE.

I tried the 14" x 5" and 14" x 6.5" snare drums (a 13" x 6.5" model is also available) in many situations and both proved to be strong performers. I got to hear the 6.5" drum in the best of circumstances, being played by none other than one of the company?s top endorsers, Chad Smith. I was hired to drum tech on the Red Hot Chili Pepper?s upcoming (and as of press time, untitled) new record. We spent three-plus weeks putting many snare drums through their paces on more than 30 songs, and the Reference drum was used on more than a few of them. The drum will be noticeable on the record because it tuned up very high without choking, something thin-shelled maple drums tend to do, especially with a solid hitter like Smith. It also had wonderful articulation and projection. I don?t know if I would use the drum on a ballad ? although it had a nice tuning range, it didn?t sound great in lower-to-mid registers ? but for tight fast rock, funk, or even jazz (it sounded great when played with brushes) the Reference drum was a winner.

negli anni gli ho visto suonare di tutto: MMX - Reference. In molti live anche il suo signature, che posseggo, ed è veramente un rullante rock funky degno di nota.

Nel video recente della Remo dove promuove la Ambassador X usa un 14x6,5 in acciaio, non so se Reference o Elite.
